Consecrate Yourself to Our Lady with the guidance of St. Louis de Montfort

Consecrate Yourself to Our Lady with
the guidance of St. Louis de Montfort

There's no devotion more perfect and more pleasing to Christ
than the one that draws us to love His Mother

From the very beginning, Our Lady is placed at the heart of salvation history

From her foreshadowing in Genesis, to the Gospel where Elizabeth greets her as blessed among women. Mary herself foretells that all generations will call her blessed, and from the cross Jesus gives her to us as our mother.

From there, the Church carried this devotion forward across the centuries in the liturgy, the Rosary, the great Marian feasts, and the prayers of ordinary faithful until it found its fullness: Entrusting ourselves entirely to Mary, so that through her we might belong more completely to her Son.

The manuscript that went lost for over a century

The manuscript that went lost for over a century

The Treatise on True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin was written between 1712 and 1715, near the end of Montfort’s life, but sat in a chest for over a century. The manuscript wasn’t found until 1842, when a priest of Montfort’s own order recognized it by chance while going through old papers.

The book's publication was of paramount importance, reigniting Marian devotion at a moment it was fading away. Since then, St. Louis de Montfort’s conviction of Mary’s role in our salvation has been instrumental in reminding Christians of their need for Our Lady.

Totus Tuus ("All Yours") was the pontifical motto of Pope John Paul II. Drawn from Montfort’s own line — Tuus totus ego sum, et omnia mea tua sunt — the phrase encapsulates the pope's total and unconditional consecration to Jesus Christ through the Virgin Mary. His profound relationship with Our Lady shaped his entire life, and the motto became the spiritual axis of his pontificate.

Where Mary is, there the evil spirit is not. One of the most infallible marks we can have of our being conducted by the good Spirit is our being very devout to Mary, our thinking often of her, and our speaking often of her.

Treatise on True Devotion is one treasure among many. This book sets the tone for the year ahead — twelve months of beauty, prayer, devotion, and the slow work of a strong formation.

The Imitation of Christ is built
around short chapters which work as meditations, examinations of conscience, and prayers.

Each passage is meant to be reflected on, so it’s not a book you race through. It’s a companion for a lifetime, one you return to again and again.
